Pros

Grace has a very nice compensation structure, and executive leadership that is hard working , likeable and earnest.

Cons

But they grind employees into the ground with ever escalating work expectations and that has been exacerbated by the work-from-home during the pandemic. I have literally taken vacation days, just so I can focus and catch up on outstanding work and avoid meetings. the executive don't seem to have any idea how much it takes to provide what they so casually ask for and commit to the Board. They seem oblivious to the burnout happening all around them and the exodus of key talent.

Pros

I was in the central analytical group, which was eventually folded into Specialty Catalysts & Process Technologies. Pleasant and collegial work environment. Nice campus with an on-site gym, decent (sometimes good!) cafeteria, a colorful history (there's a good/hilarious reason they all drink bottled water), on-site doctor and nurse (free!). Depending on your manager and work, it's possible to have flexible work hours (45-50 hr weeks were typical in R&D). I usually did a 10-7 schedule. Everyone was generally accessible and happy to share their (overflowing) knowledge with you. A self-contained powerhouse of expertise in polymerization catalysis and processes. It's really possible to create as much of a role for yourself as you wish. Building rapport with lead scientists pays dividends.

Cons

Understaffed R&D team. "Lean" teams meant we were always responding to crises. Investigations were not recorded or documented in a coherent or accessible way, and familiar problems would resurface periodically. I'm not sure what the current situation is.
