Pros

Acquisition of HGST and SanDisk has made WD a big player in both the HDD and SSD storage market for both client and enterprise.

Cons

HDD is a low margin, high volume business. SSD margins have been shrinking fast with Samsung driving a race to the bottom.

Pros

Challenging industry, diverse projects and problems to solve

Cons

Lack of true innovation system, still acts as a follower though is now clearly in a leadership role, Micro management in the middle layers that is not recognized by Sr management.
