      Engineering leadership is completely absent at best and solely focused on self-preservation at worst, leaving a power vacuum that fosters a low trust, competitive, hyper political environment within the ecommerce product teams. Endless blame- and responsibility-shifting sideways and downward. Absolutely everything is political: how work is distributed; who gets support; who gets credit, recognition or blame. Undesirables are not just ruthlessly pushed out but done so with glee, and rarely for meritocratic reasons. It's disturbing and demoralizing to watch even if you are not the target.
