Pros

You can dress how you want

Cons

This is an extremely stressful job. If you are a commissioned sales rep you will be given horrible accounts and expected to grow them to unrealistic sales goals. You will be threatened frequently of being fired. Managers take long lunches, show up late, leave early and you will be reprimanded for taking lunch breaks. The reps who make good money all tend to be older white males who have been with the company for at least 20 years. You will be bullied into not using your PTO. When the weather is bad you will not be able to call off. Only 2-3 out of 12 reps can use vacation at a given time so if you want to be off around a holiday you probably won't be able to, unless you are in the "in crowd". Whatever your base salary is when you start, it will never increase. When you ask for a raise you will be told to "sell more". There is no room for advancement. White males get promoted. Lots of bullying. They will work you like a dog and you will not make much money.

Pros

The people. WESCO has managed to attract some of the finest people I have ever worked with. Also, industrial/electrical distribution is interesting and fun. Most customers are good to work with and their needs are fairly simple. WESCO's Distribution Center Network is second to none.

Cons

A semi-recent re-org made the organization way too complex and hard to understand. Accountability in the field is virtually gone because all decisions are made in the C-Suite. It started to feel like HR was running more of the show than they should - ironic given the fact that none in the department come from the business or get out in the field to learn the business. Many talented people are leaving the organization.
