We’re disappointed your time at WGI wasn’t what you anticipated. It’s our hope that you communicated your concerns while part of the team and that the fit simply wasn’t right for you and the firm. In regards to your comment on communication for advancement and to be a PM, it’s confusing when we have a yearly goal setting for every person at WGI, and then every 90 days there’s a check-in with your manager. A significant part of these frequent “touches” is for you and your manager to set goals and regularly communicate on progress. We typically do not hear your concern and apologize if our process didn’t work well for you. We wish you the best with your career and are always here if your thoughts change.

Thanks for your comments and what a great time to fact check. First, there really are no”higher ups”. We’re all WGI associates and that’s an important part of our culture that I hope you come to appreciate. Second, all WGI associates adhere to the same policies and the same benefits. For example, everyone has the exact same health care, life insurance, dental, 401(k), paid time off, long and short-term disability, and incentive compensation plan. Further, we all pay the same portion for those benefits that require a monetary contribution by the insured. That includes your CEO, President, CFO, etc. In reference to compensation, the entire company is continuously benchmarked against our peers and adjustments made throughout the year. Several of us, including your CEO, President, and others have their salaries reviewed annually (and sometimes adjusted but not always) by a separate outside compensation committee. So in reality, no one is enjoying “most of the benefits.” If you still feel otherwise, I’d love to speak with you to better appreciate your perspective.

Pros

The pay is good and the hours are reasonable for starting survey technicians. Definitely a lot of work to do and a lot to learn.

Cons

Things can get repetitive real quick and projects can easily start to pile up.

We appreciate your feedback and want you to know that we value everyone’s opinion. It’s so important to hear from our field personnel because each of you work with much autonomy and significant responsibility. We are constantly reviewing compensation and benefits and appreciate your feedback on pay. It’s a challenging market and your thoughts are essential for WGI to remain competitive. With thousands of active projects, I know you will start to see diversity in your projects, and in your learning. Be patient and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the breadth of work we complete for our clients.
