      Overall good. Not mentally challenging and very solitary being on the truck alone all day. Great people, ok managing.

      Pros

      No boss directly over your shoulder Physically demanding so you stay in shape Nice to work outside all day Good wage with OT after 9 hours daily Potential for more hours by helping out on other routes Nice to talk to residents once in awhile Optional working of holidays with 2.5x pay

      Management sometimes would get nit picky about minute issues ie proper lifting form Difficult for Jr workers to get good vacation time off as this is booked from highest seniority to lowest Mechanics at times get backed up with work and dismiss your concerns about your truck Minimum of 10 hours work every day as per the contract

      Pros

      WMAA (waste management association of Australia) Small organisation so able to get pretty hands on with projects. great opportunities for networking with association members.

      Cons

      Management was very unprofessional and bullied staff. Consistent public humiliation if the manager was not "in a good mood" so staff hesitant to ask questions. Very inefficient organisation. Organisational culture wasn't very supportive or positive.
