Pros

Great co-workers that are excellent at what they do. Overall, the company has a strong reputation and relative job security. Innovative techologies are coming down the line making WM a potentially exciting place to work in the next 3 - 5 years.

Cons

Too many layers in management, with little recognition to those who deserve it, a lot of "change" with little to no guidance or explaination of new roles/responsibilities; you must be be okay with ambiguity. Pay is also lower than comparable positions elsewhere.

Pros

The benefits were really good and most of my co-workers were excellent. The facilties were very nice also.

Cons

It does not matter how well you do in your job. My PDS goals were off the charts and I was an Emerald Circle Winner. I was at 150 % of my sales goal for the year and that my friends was not good enough for the Wisconsin/ Minnesota market area. But at the end of the day, that was not enough to save my job as the market area needed to save two million dollars in the 4th quarter. Go figure, lets fire a rep because he is making good money. Hello, if I'm making good money so are you, my deals averaged a 29% ebit overall. Believe me if you can sell trash and recycling at Waste Management, you can sell it anywhere, trust me.

Pros

Decent Pay and good benefits, Lots of flexibility on what you will be doing on a daily basis, and you'll need it, the people I've worked with are good hardworking fun to work with people.

Cons

"CORPORATE" as all the managers say to you,, have cut us so close to the bone that everyone is doing two and most time three jobs just to stay employed, and middle management makes it clear where the door is, Supervisors are mostly a true blue stab in the back group with each other, and I guess it's because most of them are idiots to the fact that you CAN NOT BE A MANAGER without a four year degree with this company, think about it, you spend 18 or 24 or 26 years with a company and they have a job that you do with your eyes closed but because you don't have a bachelors you don't get the job, don't expect job security, pay freezes based on stock prices? you have to be kidding me, I don't believe we have had a red quarter in at least 28 that I can think of, and thats during the worst economy since the thirties, your instructed to do the job of supervisors who left, either from layoff or disgust, but no money ever comes your way, cost of living is averaging up somewhere near 5 1/2% per year and they think you should be kissing there feet for an annual 2%, and you can forget that hefty bonus program, thats only for the connected not the ones making them that bonus, Christmas bonus, yeah right, safety bonus, yeah right, forget to clock out, take a couple days off without pay, if your looking, try to find a more equitable company.
