long hours, company phone rings constantly, expected to reply emails/phone calls on days off. Advancement depends on any open positions to senior leadership, which are few.

Pros

The need for garbage service will never go away. Waste Management is a financially solid company and has the withstand the economic ups and downs. I have been with Waste Management for almost 10 years and they have been good to me and my family.

Cons

As a Route Manager, it is difficult to plan your day. There are so many variables that can happen with your drivers, fleet, or customers. You spend most of your day putting out "fires".
