Pros

You are able to get access to a lot of shows, movie premieres, unreleased books and albums. There is a sense of camaraderie that develops as you start at the bottom/mailroom with other people, and that will carry on through your other jobs after WME.

Cons

Employees are mistreated, disrespected and undervalued. Senior agents are frightened of the younger, more vibrant, better educated and more in-tune with current culture, assistants.... so they are sure to never promote or speak highly of their assistants. It's a degrading place to work.

Pros

network, comps for shows and festivals, coworkers

Cons

takes 4-6 years to get promoted to agent. low, unlivable wage. can only work from home one day in the summer, and then back to 5 days in the office. They make it impossible to switch departments and offices. Getting promoted is super political. Not much ability to move laterally if you don't want to be an agent. Lots of turnover.
