It's 'Entourage' But Not Funny

Pros

Recognizable name to put on your resume. You will leave with a few good friends. Good place to get a bird's eye view of the entire entertainment industry.

Cons

Where to begin? Low pay coupled with nepotism, sexism, racism etc. Some of the agents were caught up in #MeToo and nothing has changed. This is a fraternity for privileged white men. Period. If you're "one of them" or have Hollywood connections (i.e. a famous dad), you will probably rise up. Women and BIPOC, sorry. You're probably going to be an assistant forever or get promoted for optics and then be fired. Put this on your resume and then run.

Exciting but Intense

Pros

Close to the action of the entertainment industry - gives you a great education of how things work in Hollywood

Cons

Stressful and competitive environment, with a high rate of burnout among assistants. You are a cog in a machine and if you don’t work, there’s someone else behind you who will.
