Pros

The culture is awesome, free food drinks and beer with plenty of events. VML also has resume building brands. This could be the perfect job for someone who wants to 100% commit to only his/her job and work an average of 50-60 hours a week (if you're a developer) but for someone with side-projects, entrepreneurial desires, or a family this can get taxing, especially with the average pay.

Cons

Poor work/life balance for development. Poor compensation.

Pros

I worked in the Paris office so this review is valid only for that. The work is very interesting and challenging, there is a lot of opportunity to learn the ins and out of the industry. The employees are incredibly talented, they work hard, are very supportive of each other. The pay is very good, maybe above average compared to other agencies. The company has a great network, a very good reputation and some very interesting clients. Very nice office.

Cons

Politics is present and can be felt but In my case it was partly due to the re-organization the account team was going through. So, mostly concerns about job safety were motivating the politics. Clients have sometime unreasonable demands and when pushed back tensions, discussions and conflicts can arise. Employees can at times get overworked which leads to reactivity and stress. That said the client side can also get overworked as well and they can become very difficult to deal with sometimes. It is a cliche to blame clients but clieches also have a kernel of truth in them too. The position of Y&R towards its clients is great. The company is offering a service and years of expertise so push back is warranted and in a lot of cases very much appropriate.

Pros

The only thing I can say is that yes there is talent, but basically all good Ideas get killed when the suits get there paws on it. Also great clients but in all, what good is that if they never want to let the creatives take their brands to the next level they are too stuck on numbers/analytics and that dinosaur mentality, and as an added bonus the office decor is great (alligator skin wallpaper anyone)...

Cons

the pay is really bad, there is no type of evaluation system in process so how does anyone know if your good, doing good, or even in the conversation to become great. No guidance! no training, forget going to conferences so start saving up if you really want to hit up that life changing mega event, cause it's gonna come out of your pocket. Work Life balance is alright, but at the end of the day you ask yourself did we really do anything that's great
