Pros
I would disregard a lot of these poor reviews. WPS is at a very exciting phase right now in which there is a ton of great change occurring within the company. This may be difficult for some of the old-timers to grasp, but it is necessary for the company's success with modern regulation and competition. WPS's executive staff is full of talented and incredibly intelligent individuals. This is a company that listens to employees and allows them to take on a great deal of responsibility quickly. If you are looking into internships, entry-level positions, or plan on working on the corporate side of business, WPS's current state creates a lot of awesome opportunity for you to shine and move up quickly within the organization. Upper management will give any ideas that you have strong consideration and for anyone eager to take on a bigger role, there is typically opportunity to do so. Exciting things are happening and this company is moving in the direction of becoming a leader in the Wisconsin market.
Cons
As I stated, a lot of people don't understand the change that is occuring and view it as a "con" when that is not the case. Insurance is a risky business and can be stressful, but high risk = high reward, and this is something that WPS recognizes. Having half of the employees in a union and the other half not can make for a bit of divided culture.
