Pros

The new upper management has some great ideas to move the company forward. The staff employees are skilled and also have some great ideas for improvement. OK work location. Generous PTO time.

Cons

Depending on what area a person works in, the morale is better in some areas than in others. Benefits have been reduced each year for the last 5 years. Very limited promotional opportunities. Limited training/growth opportunities.

Pros

The pay and job security were excellent. I really liked having a union to turn to when management was unreasonable or actively hostile. The health, dental, and vision benefits were good. The office location and campus were nice.

Cons

In the 8 years I worked there we were on mandated overtime of 10 hours a week for 5 of those years. This was originally supposed to be a temporary problem during a major transition, but instead ended up being the standard way of doing business in all departments. This disrupted my ability to go to school part time and see my family. If you leave due to extended overtime you will be listed as ineligible for rehire, which makes it difficult to get future jobs!

Pros

If you already have extensive knowledge of the Medicare cost report it might be a good place for you. There are some opportunities for advancement.

Cons

If you do not already have great knowledge of the Medicare cost report it will be a tough experience. The deadlines are very tight leaving little time to learn Medicare. The work life balance is good for supervisors but bad for auditors. Time off is currently hard to get with some auditors having to cancel their vacation plans. Again without prior Medicare cost report experience you will be working very long hours.
