Pros

Beautiful building, workspace, free parking, and a crew of smart professionals with passion to do the right thing by their internal and external customers - despite any and all brick walls. Effort underway to integrate all departments to operate efficiently. Incredible strategists and industry thought-leaders. Workplace allows for introductions to political, education, business and government affiliate representatives. Great environment to enhance project management skills and development of personal "Best Practice" model.

Cons

A few inexperienced mid-level professionals are often left unchecked by senior management. Lends opportunities for less than favorable working conditions. Non-existent work-life balance. Majority of committed managers and front-line workers operating in fear-based work environment often creates chaotic, disorganized approach to work outcomes.

Pros

Many of the long term employees are dedicated and decent people. There are opportunities to help other employees and gain a broader perspective.

Cons

Silo communication, management contempt for employees. Some parts of the organization (such as Engineering, HR, Acquisition, MBE) are very "can't do" places.

Pros

There is consistently "work" to be done, but it might not always be work that adds value. You will find yourself extensively engaged, much like rats running on wheels.

Cons

Many IT managers within the organization have obtained their positions using improper methods. A significant number of them lack the required educational qualifications, experience, skills, and emotional intelligence needed for their roles. Nepotism has been a factor in the promotion of many of these managers. Job descriptions are adjusted to suit the specific desired candidate. Their elevated positions continue without oversight or accountability from higher-ranking individuals at the CIO and GM levels. Consequently, these IT leaders and managers fashion and allocate positions and bonuses for themselves, essentially living in a manner much like gods.
