      A good couple of years in the A/Pac investment team

      Pros

      Good group of people, innovative, strong team culture, team off-sites with rest of the A/Pac Investments team, contact with a lot of asset managers and the investment styles. some mobility within the global team.

      Cons

      Career progression is not always clear, pay determinations are always fuzzy, limited ability to progress past a certain point.

      Sharp people, best in benefits consulting industry - very conservative industry

      Pros

      Work/life balance, care about strategy and research, careful about work quality, well known and positive brand among clients and business in general

      Cons

      Limited in how much positive impact you can have on your clients business (this is an overall industry challenge), Towers Watson rewards CEO and top execs extremely well over many years (ie options and a soaring stock price have made top execs very wealthy) but this does NOT get shared even down to the Exec/Pricipal level (Level 50)

      Pros

      There are some great people who want to see you (and will help you) grow and succeed. Once you have established a track record, you will have a good deal of flexibility to structure your routines, approaches to client work, et cetera.

      Cons

      Getting anything done takes several times as long as before the merger, and the administrative burden of working here continues to increase without bound. Culture has also changed for the worse. Senior management is arrogant and authoritarian -- follows "do as I say, not as I do" approach with regard to corporate values and responsibilities.
