Pros

None - Not an equal opportunity Employer (GSS)

Cons

Too many "Karens". If a person of color speaks up, they face retaliation by management. You have to work more than twice as hard as your white colleagues. Your ratings are predetermined regardless of your contributions. If you make a mistake, you are crucified. Promotion is at a slower rate.

Doesn't value employees

Pros

Good place to get a lot of responsibility when young although you won't get paid for it.

Cons

Promotions with little/no raise, disorganized company, incompetent leadership, no corporate strategy. Senior staff too busy to train people and not incentivized to. Very dog eat dog mentality. Doesn't invest in talent... 2-3% raises or less for the best performers is common. High turnover. Low morale in anticipation of possible Aon merger.

Pros

Great technology and good place to start for college grad

Cons

Noticing the majority for the negative reviews are from the Benefits Delivery Administration (BDA, formerly known as TAS) line of business, a very profitable line of business for WTW, comprised of business analysts and developers. This group is very highly politicized where there is no clear path for career development. BAs are ranked 1-5. It can potentially take more than 7 seven years to move to the next level (e.g. 2>3), even for high performers. Some do get promoted after 2 years. You'll see people with performance issues move to leadership roles. Promotion is not typically based on performance and you have to tell your manager that you want a promotion, not like typical companies where they will automatically promote you based on your performance. This was an unpleasant surprise for me when I asked why I wasn't promoted and was told that I had to apply for it. After your application, then you have to fight for it and prove yourself once again. Then you'll be told, as numerous people have been told, that the Senior Director has to know you in order to be promoted...well known fact.
