Pros

Pay is good for no experience required.

Cons

Negligent supervisors, constant lies by management, unrealistic expectations, clear favoritism, office people and production people are very disconnected, almost feels like there’s two different castes.

Pros

Pros I have been working as a design engineer at Wacker Neuson 1-2 years, and I would like to share my experiences and thoughts about the company on Glassdoor. Wacker Neuson is a global manufacturer of construction equipment and machinery, and it has established itself as a leader in the industry. Here's my review based on various aspects of the company: 1. Work Environment: The work environment at Wacker Neuson is highly professional and stimulating. The company encourages collaboration, innovation, and creativity among its employees. The design engineering team works on exciting projects and is provided with the necessary resources and tools to excel in their work. The management is supportive and open to suggestions and feedback. There is a surplus of resources on the team. Mark Lang and Don Knutson have extensive knowledge. Both are willing to help. 2. Compensation and Benefits: After a raise and the annual bonus, I would consider the compensation to be average. However, the less tangible benefits are impressive. Vacation starts at 3 weeks paid for salary employees. Additionally, the company provides various employee perks, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and employee assistance programs. 401k vesting is not tiered, though. 3. Career Growth and Development: I was able to learn a lot at my position. However, my understanding is there are few formal opportunities such as GD&T classes or other certifications. The company provides ample opportunities for learning and advancement. Additionally, internal mobility and promotional opportunities are available for those who demonstrate exceptional performance over extended periods of time. 4. Work-Life Balance: Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is a priority at Wacker Neuson. The company excels in this area. Company has flex hours with core hours of 9-3. Optional “Summer hours" means you can take off Friday after noon, assuming you reach your hours for the week and have completed your workload. The company understands the importance of personal well-being and encourages employees to manage their time effectively. There can be occasional project deadlines and workload spikes. Salary usually means you work 40 hours per week, but you are expected to go over 40 hours per week at times. 5. Company Culture: The company culture at Wacker Neuson is collaborative, inclusive, and diverse. Employees come from different backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to the table. The company fosters a culture of respect, teamwork, and integrity. Regular team-building activities and social events contribute to a positive work atmosphere. 6. Innovation and Technology: As a design engineer, I appreciate Wacker Neuson's commitment to innovation and technological advancement. The company provides engineers with the tools and resources needed to stay at the forefront of the industry. This enables us to work on challenging projects and develop groundbreaking solutions. 7. Communication and Transparency: Wacker Neuson promotes open and transparent communication channels throughout the organization. The management encourages employees to share their ideas, concerns, and suggestions. Regular team meetings, department updates, and feedback sessions ensure that everyone is informed and involved in the decision-making process. In conclusion, Wacker Neuson provides an excellent work environment for design engineers to grow or advance. I expect the company to make a compelling overall offer to new hires if you consider the entire package. With a focus on innovation and technology, Wacker Neuson provides an exciting platform for design engineers to thrive and contribute to the construction equipment industry.

Cons

I accepted a higher paying offer at another company, where I will be able to develop a different skill set. I expect Wacker Neuson would offer the opportunity to develop this skillset internally as well in a different position.

Pros

Equipment borrowing. Cool products. Good coworkers (not management)

Cons

If you're an engineer who cares about doing things the right way, this is not the place for you. Wacker America designs and operates with an oligarchy leadership team which leaves full product control in the 3 people's hands. Upper management are all long term buddies from Bobcat and there is blatant copyright infringement in Wacker America designs from Bobcat. There's even stolen Bobcat documents being used to design Wacker products. Hint, compare a ST50 to an older Bobcat. The American leadership team does not value safety either. This includes the product design and plant management. Injuries are frequent and simply swept under the rug. Culture here is non existent, your victories will not be celebrated but you will have your failures beaten into you. Team morale in the engineering teams is rock bottom, and WN USA is hemorrhaging good talent like it's their job.
