Ever changing environment, interaction with varied associates and customers, good compensation based directly on performance, and company provides advancement opportunities from Salesperson up the management ladder.

Cons

Long hours, long drives, and dealing with personal problems of subordinates. Benefits are less than touted.

Learning the lingo is fun but may be overwhelming at first Literally nothing else is a pro of this job

Cons

Abusive co-workers Apathetic management Do not work night shift Pathetic tips People steal from the register constantly, and then all servers on the shift have to split the amount stolen and give it back Which is sometimes more than you actually made

Long hours. Take a promotion and lose work life balance. No management in building once you leave for the day, so guess who they're going to call if they need anything
