Great place to work

Pros

The work environment is like being part of a family. Also, as the cook you’re able to cook whatever you want to eat and eat free. The steak and premium meats you have to pay for but you do get a discount.

Cons

It’s hard work, and fast paced. They have their own way of doing things so you will have to learn the lingo. Also, the plates are labeled by food ingredients that tell the cook how to prepare the food. This was the hardest part to remember but once you get it gets easier.

Thank you for sharing your great review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the work environment and felt that sense of being part of a team. That feeling of connection in our restaurants is something we work hard to build, and it’s great to know it stood out to you. We’re also happy you highlighted the meal benefits available to Associates. Learning the Waffle House lingo and our plate-marking system can feel overwhelming at first, but those tools are designed to help our teams communicate quickly and accurately during busy shifts. It’s encouraging to hear that once it clicked, it became easier to navigate. We appreciate you recognizing both the positives and the challenges of the role. We wish you continued success in your next opportunity and thank you for being part of the team.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your leadership as a Unit Manager in Freeport. We’re glad to hear the earning potential met your expectations and that your upper management team has been supportive. Strong leadership at the Division and Area level can make a meaningful difference, especially in high-volume markets. We recognize that operating a 24/7 restaurant requires flexibility and commitment, and in high-traffic areas that responsibility can be even greater. We’re continuously working to improve recruiting, retention, and support systems so managers aren’t carrying more than they should. We appreciate the honest feedback and the work you do to lead your team. We look forward to supporting you throughout your career.
