Franchise is a no Go!!

Pros

The best possible part about working at a restaurant like this are the connections that can be made with customers. Hours are very flexible and as long as you are a courteous person with good work ethic you will do well. it is a typical serving job.

Cons

The main challenge that was faced during my time was the franchise owners. They were not as business savy as they should have been. Corporate was always in correcting them on items, which they would then punish the employees for, very unprofessional in interaction with servers. These franchise owners not only did not care for the personal lives or well being of employees, they would single out people they did not like and continually "re-arrange" their schedules. I lost many good co-workers due to this, the main manager was powerless to the owners dictates and just as stressed about keeping their job. These owners were the dark cloud on an otherwise wonderful work experience -- they were just atrocious.

Pros

Cash daily as a server and you write your own paycheck, basically.

Cons

Grill ops get the shaft. Crappy pay and hours can be cut on a whim for both positions. Servers wash dishes, which is the craziest thing I've ever seen. Ever. Customer service takes a back seat to the "waffle house way." Can't take money at a table; must send them to the register and then meet then there because no other server has the gift of sight... Can't get a drink order until they order food unless you'd like to incur the wrath of management. All holidays are mandatory. Management is overworked and underpaid and our manager, at least, is paid mostly on bonus structure, so when his exhausted incompetence leads to high for costs, there is a blanket blame of streaking to go around. Boo hiss. But I do make good money and get to have dinner every night with the kiddos, so... It is what it is...
