Pros

You make a lot of money

Cons

Working 70+ hours, meetings at LEAST twice a week for several hours even after working all day. When finished working for the day, you have to go back at night for an hour or two so don't make plans if your working that day. You have to stock, clean, change out the register. Call in to your superior at least 3 times a day with staffing, payroll and sales. Cut your stores grass, paint, custodian, cook, administrator, landscaper. You are only promised 4 days off a month and they stick close to that. Your off days change. When you are off they still call you when problems arise big and small. You get calls all hours of the night a lot! You will work several times 14 to 20 days straight. When the rest of the world runs on 7 days a week they run on 8 days a week to limit your days off.

Pros

Waffle House promotes their upper management candidates from within the organization. If you are well admired by your upper management team, regardless of how well you perform, you will move up fast. People that work hard and run good numbers have to wait much longer for advancement opportunities if they are not admired by their management team. This should be the other way around. Waffle is suppose to be an equal opportunity employer, sadly to say, this is not true.

Cons

Waffle House has a great compensation package that also includes stock options. Store managers make 40-55k a year. Managers work six days consecutive, then they have two days off. They receive a week off about every six weeks. Managers are required to work all major holidays, which also includes Christmas and New Years. Waffle House never closes.
