Pros

At Waffle House you meet some really great people, both customers and staff members. Also, you work closely with your team so it allows for building of relationships in a trust driven environment. You get paid weekly; at least until you become a 'certified' Unit Manager, at which time you will be paid Bi-Weekly.

Cons

The hours as a Unit Manager and Unit Manager Trainee are tough. It is a lot of work upfront and your initial investment will be into the company, not the other way around. If you are looking for extensive training when you first come through the door you will get it, but at your own pace and desire to learn. Unit Managers and 'Most' cooks and servers are REQUIRED to work on Holidays, which stinks, but is also just the restaurant industry in general.

Pros

they have a real relaxed attitude to working. almost like being in high school, older employees and their clicks and do not try to train employees coming in.

Cons

this job is very low paid lots of head aches and lots of drama. they do not allow for personal life. they want you to work more hours but not pay overtime.

Pros

Only pro is weekly pay in cash

Cons

Managment touts Waffle House as a company that "promotes from within"-this is far from the truth. The only hope you have for advancing into a management position is to be recruited by a college headhunter or sponsored on an immigration visa from a foreign country. Management routinely overlooks legal violations such as drug use, sexual harrassment and religious discrimination. Payroll (if your paycheck is ever correct) is shady...best advice, WATCH YOUR W-2s carefully. I advised the Tax Dept. several times last year the amount of taxes held while working as a Grill Operator were incorrect. I am left owing several hundred dollars this year I can not afford to pay.
