Pros

Private stock options start on day 1 (exercisable 10 yrs later) Great benefits affordability (depending on Obamacare changes) Vacations and days off planned one year in advance Constantly and aggressively expanding - $1B company with ZERO debt!

Cons

Time off can change or flux due to weather/events; work ALL holidays, especially Christmas Commute can be a pain, especially if you're not flexible enough to move People will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat, be it members of management, or your own associates

Pros

You can make a living wage. You are allowed to run a business. Given time to make mistakes, and learn from them Good bonds between most managers

Cons

Zero appreciation of work/family balance. Promotion standards advertised are lies if you want to get promoted kiss ass. Poor at scheduling upcoming meetings far enough to plan for them Senior management responds emotionally not professionally Store managers are babied then district and division level are treated poorly. Region and up can do no wrong (just ask them) Bonuses are being damaged by company growth and the company doesn't care that its people who have allowed growth are suffering.

Pros

Room for advancement. Also it will teach you a lot about running a business

Cons

Need to allow managers to have a personal life. When you become a unit manager you have a decent salary depending on your sales in your unit but after you look at the amount of hours you work. You hourly rate ends up being maybe $10 an hour and this happen pretty much every week. Forget weekends and holidays with friends and family. Once you agree to Waffle house they own you and they will get their monies worth. Just beware if you join this company. Oh yea kiss your kids goodbye hopefully you will see them before they graduate high school.
