Pros

The pay is very good for the role itself, with a decent volume store, a Bachelor's degree (higher bonus with four year degree) , and the yearly stock option awards you're very close to the six figure range. 3 paid 10 day vacations per year. Stock ownership and automatic stock option awards when checking into a store and at continuous service career milestones for $17,000 and $5000. Easy cooking job if you have prior restaurant COOKING experience. Fairly easy to get promoted as long as you are competent and have patience with your associates, most promotions occur within 1-2 years and put your salary into the 90k-115k range. Two month's worth of paid training before running your store.

Cons

You will work every holiday (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving). You are on call 24/7 for six of the eight days during your eight day workweek, expect calls at 1 am when you have to be back at the store for 6:30am. Expect to average anywhere from 60-75 hours per your 8 day work week. My previous two weeks before posting this I worked 78 hours and 67 hours. To make the higher end on the salary range you will have to run a busier store, which is an immense challenge without line cook experience, as you will spend 75% of your day cooking. The amount of support you will have covering shifts completely depends on your management team and your staff, if you cannot cover an overnight shift because an associate called out you are expected to work the shift even if that means you work 20 of the 24 hours that day. Starting pay for 90% of your potential cooks is $12.75 unless they have prior Waffle House experience (not Restaurant experience).
