Pros

Positive working culture. Good banter with other colleagues. 20% discount at Waitrose and 25% at John Lewis. Overtime available (location dependant)

Cons

You may end up working in the shop if there is no driving route for you. The vans are always breaking down, and spare vans are not always great. Communication can be poor, and things do not get done as efficiently as they could be.

Pros

The retail industry in general is an absolute mess of people that either dont care about their career, or have gotten stuck in the industry. Out fo all the supermarket retailers, Waitrose is one of the better ones, but that doesn't really mean much.

Cons

Management is a boys club, and as I've seen on multiple occasions, they prefer hiring for management externally in order to not need to replace staff. The best workers will be made "team leaders" and get stuck in these positions, while having the same responsibilities as management for less pay.
