Pros

- Good benefits inc Waitrose and John Lewis Discount (up to 25%) - A job that carries little stress and easy to switch off from - Overall, I've had very good experience with managers and other partners

Cons

- Not many opportunities to advance within the partnership - Not great pay, especially compared to other supermarkets - Sometimes I wonder if Waitrose have employed me as a cleaner (they definitely did not) - Easy work means the job can become brain-numbing at times

Pros

Some great people work there, from all walks of life. Feel proud to be a Partner - really happy with the ethos of the partnership model. Might get a bonus if we’re lucky. Keen for you to learn and progress. Discount is great!

Cons

The pressure, particularly on managers, is just ridiculous. Too many managers who’re ‘hands off’ and prefer to walk around with a clipboard and mobile, so the pressure is put on the frontline Partners. Those managers who’re ‘hands on’ often get involved where it’s not wanted nor needed. Lack of thorough training, so mistakes are made; rarely do you get a sincere thank you for something good. Never enough staff through cost cutting exercises and reorganisations.
