Pros

Main pro is the excellent health hub. They really care about your health and wellbeing and don't discriminate against disabilities etc. They are good at making reasonable adjustments and giving leeway for sick days if the reason is related to an ongoing health problem. This is better than any other company I've worked for including Boots and Lloyds pharmacy. Pay per hour isn't great but the bonus scheme is good. Overtime is almost always available and in my store at least we are never short staffed. Generally a good environment to work in. 15% discount after 3 months on food, and generally a lot of reduced food at very low price at the end of the day is another bonus. Management are okay at my store. There's one bad apple but apart from that it's a friendly atmosphere to work in.

Cons

I can't think of many downsides. I find the job itself can be a bit menial but that would be the same in any supermarket. I feel that at times not enough responsibility is given to shop assistants and there isn't much room for growth. Variety of jobs can be slim and at times we are placed on the tills for 8 hour shifts while others in the same roll get other jobs to do which I find less boring.

Pros

Good team ethic, decent benefits. As a student worker it is a good place to work: the pay is good but they don't expect you to do too much unless you want to: in which case there is scope for expanding.

Cons

There is a bit of friction between different departments, and most people (myself included) did not understand the thinking behind some of the management's decisions
