Pros

I'm struggling to find things to write in here.

Cons

Huge cultural changes taking place currently driven by the NLW recent and future increase's. Benefits being eroded and most importantly the 'old' business that would consult and listen before making major changes has gone. All levels being asked to spread themselves too thinly with every measure being 'RAG'd' but none taking any more of a priority than the other. Turnover is accelerating as good people leave and I for one am actively looking for alternative employment.

Pros

Great place to work as a student, good perks (partner bonus especially), and generally friendly management. flexible hours/good shift patterns. Good opportunities for development for those who wish to stay in retail.

Cons

Management structure can often be over crowded with the number of SMs ASM's and DM's in larger stores (My store had 15-20 managers) managers could be very cliquey sometimes and definitely had favourites. Some managers also looked down on lower staff. The work in operations is also very monotonous, during the interview stages they sell the position as being very varied and diverse, but the reality of the position is just reductions and audits. It pays well for what it is though.

Pros

Above national minimum wage Paid and unpaid breaks Great range of benefits available such as ticket subsides, discounted cinema tickets and hotel stays, cheaper mobile contracts- but a lot of discounts only applicable to places in London.

Cons

No real training and development, majority is based on the computer and does not lead to further opportunities. With the role out of 'modern Waitrose', hours are being cut down and staff are struggling to do their jobs.
