      It used to be a wonderful place to work - now with all of the politics involved it is becoming less about the students.

      Pros

      It offers fairly stable employment for staff. Your colleagues are usually very supportive and like to help each other. If you are lucky enough to get into a school with a family type environment - you will be very happy.

      Cons

      The Board continues to take away benefits - both medical and professional. With all of the "in fighting" going on within the board - it seems as though it is more about which side wins then what is best for the students and staff.

      Pros

      Hours conducive to raising a family. In many circumstances there is an opportunity for autonomy and professional growth. There are some excellent administrators in the system.

      Cons

      Career status and performance evaluations do not guarantee job security. In some circumstances employees are expected to "do as they are told" rather than what is in the best interest of the population served.
