Pros

The pros really depend on your individual manager. Some departments are great, some suck.

Cons

Miscommunication Senior management changing directions on too regular of a basis. It may not seem like a big deal to management, but if you view it as they are the handle of the whip and the bottom level employees are the end of the whip--the changes are seriously amplified Too much emphasis on administrative paperwork that gets in the way of actually spending time with the students.

Pros

Well run school. Department Head backs up insructors when there is a problem with a student.

Cons

Not enough hours to make this my only job. I wonder why someone with a full time job would want to teach a lecture class, it doesn't seem to pay well enough to justify all the outside work involved with teaching a class.

Pros

It is very rewarding working with students who want to learn and have that drive and desire about them. I also was able to meet a lot of people in the industry in the area.

Cons

It feels like you really get the worst of a middle management position. You get it from the slacker students who don't want to be there or do anything yet complain when they miraclulously don't pass. Then you get it from above when those same students rail on you during student reviews. It was my first professional job and it really just felt like I was hung out to dry by those above me.
