Pros

Store Managers typically work Monday - Friday 7:30-5:00 with 2-3 Saturdays every month. Not a bad schedule for a retail manager.

Cons

Very high expectations as benefits, bonus, pay, staffing are all going down. Bonus used to be 10-20% or more of annual pay, now they are systematically eliminating the bonus to $0. Most Assistant Store Managers make at or above what they now offer new store managers. $40-$45K.

Pros

Work from home, they send the equipment

Cons

I can only speak for me and my experience. The training was terrible. Everyone I started with had issues that could not be resolved and by the time nesting (training) was over a lot of the people that started with me had quit!! Trainers do not communicate. You are told different rules so don't even listen to what is told to you during orientation. But what really upset me is when they posted the ad and interview you they tell you that you will be calling pharmacy customers to answer questions, let them know about change in price or insurance or returning calls. Turns out, they wanted us to enroll them in a new program so we had to call people all day while they yelled at us or hung up the phone...it gets worse...they tell you that you aren't selling anything but you meet a quota!! It's so nerve wrecking. Just post an ad saying the position is much like a telemarketing job. You have to push the enrollment at least 3 times even after they clearly say no! Next you get cursed out or hung up on. The customers are mostly old people...I feel so bad for bothering them....especially since I don't have a salesperson bone in my body. They should have told the truth. We would have group calls and others would complain about the system not working or customers calling and complaining about enrollment and management would act as if they didn't care...little to no response and one manager even suggested we be slight dishonest. I love Walgreens and am very disappointed
