Pros

You get good benefits. Insurance is not expensive at all compared to other employers. 401k available and Wal-Mart matches up to 6%. PTO- the longer you've been with the company the faster you accrue pto. A salaried person with 7 years with the company gets about 6 weeks of pto.

Cons

They definitely overwork you. $48k a year is not worth becoming salaried. With the amount of hours you put in (minimum of 50 hours but often times 60-70hours per week) once you do the math, you end up getting paid about $16/hour. You dont get to spend time with your family because the little time you have left of the day, you just want to sleep your stress away and before you know it it's the next day already and gotta put another hectic 10+hr shift. No work/life balance.

Pros

Good salaries, good benefits, schedule flexibility with enough pre notification as a manager, tons of training material, many opportunities for development.

Cons

Not enough hands on or actual training, favoritism in many stores, deviations from sop, policies when it benefits, short notice on updates and changes.

Pros

Pay. Diversity. Advancement. Hard work and dependability definitely pay off.

Cons

The only drawback I've found is after assistant manager it's hard to go higher regardless of your talent level. A lot of deserving people get passed over out of loyalty and familiarity. If you are not good at politicking good luck making Co or getting a store!
