Don't begin working at Walmart thinking you'll be treated with any ounce of respect from Management or Customers. As to be expected with any megacorporation, you'll be looked down upon and talked to like a child, or sometimes like a dog. This is not an over-exaggeration. The pay is very bad in an economy where inflation has become rampant. 14 an hour starting pay from where I'm from. Also, the point system is a joke. Each day you are sick and need to take off, Walmart records it in your point system. If you get to five points within the span of half a year, you will be fired. No other job I've had has ever been so incredibly unforgiving. Management doesn't trust their employees, at all. They are always watching and getting onto them for very minute situations, like talking to a coworker for over 30 seconds instead of standing around looking bored. But they let people steal all the time and don't seem to give a Rats A**! Most of the bosses have this weird high-schooler clique mentality to them. Don't even get me started on their little "Walmart Cheer" they do for themselves after meetings. Also, when you apply, don't say "I'll be free to work whenever!" unless you actually mean it. I work with people who have made this mistake, and Walmart gives them awful schedules. (For example: doing a 2pm-11pm and the next day doing 8am-5pm). You NEED to be as specific as possible with the hours you can work, or else Walmart will use you and then blame you once you say you have an issue with their inconsiderate scheduling. I refuse to say what specific position I work in (just in case this review gets found out), but let's just say it's a very demanding, very thankless, very degrading job. This is why you should work hard and go to School! lol
