Pros

The benefit package cost is excellent. While the deductibles are higher, the premiums are peanuts. There are usually full 40-hour weeks for full-time associates. The company has advancement for associates that work hard.

Cons

Scheduling sucks. Split days off and a never ending change of days off are the norm in many hourly jobs including supervisors. If you complete a degree while working in an hourly job, your likelihood of getting a management position is lower than a non-degree-holding associate and you are not eligible to use the "outside" intern / professional development program.

Pros

Since most Wal-Marts are open 24/7, you can work a schedule that meets your personal schedule, such as going to school. If you are a person that likes working with customers, you will enjoy working at Wal-Mart.

Cons

You are treated like dirt by the staff, especially HR. They are so unprofessional!
