Lack of Associates

Pros

Having the flexibility for availability.

Cons

Not being able to provide excellent customer service on the floor, as floor associates often get called to help out at the check outs at the front end. While policy is not to have line-ups at the tills, this has a trickle effect with a shortage of associates on the floor, by not being able to fulfill their duties of what is expected of them. More workload demands placed on associates. With our society, we are teaching impatience and what are the consequences...

Pros

Opportunities to work in different positions, different departments, to learn different things. An inclusive and respectful work culture. Work for a worldwide multi-cultural corporation that sells many types of merchandise. Perks such as occasional treats, Fun Fridays, employee discounts.

Cons

Hours are not always consistent, the wages not necessarily "a living wage". Work can be dangerous, hazardous, unpleasant. Management is not always respectful of others.
