Its a good place to work if you stay out of management.

Pros

Building a family at work. Good opportunities for advancement. Good benefits.

Cons

Management is expected to work extra days and longer hours without extra compensation. Call ins put a lot of stress on management because there is so much that they expect you to get done regardless of the amount of help you have that day.

Pros

Very friendly co-workers and management. Excellent computerized training in the way WalMart runs, which tries to prepare you for any eventuality. They do put on a heck of Thanksgiving spread.

Cons

The "season" does not include Christmas or New Year's -- just Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I guess if they they told you how short the season is, they would get fewer applicants.
