      Leadership needs to take a step back

      I guess the space is cool. When it’s not leaking.

      Cons

      The CEO likes to hire buddies that have very little knowledge of the industry/market, pay them unreasonable salaries, and then expect little actual work from them. To counter this and make it seem that he also hires outside of his group of friends, he makes a great show of hiring very talented individuals/specialists and sells them on the meager salary by pitching them on the benefits of “startup life”. Unfortunately, he then quickly runs them off (I saw this time and time again during my years there) by ignoring everything they have to say, micromanaging their every move, and believing he knows better than the experts he hired. I wanted to be a believer. I put in way more time here than I should have. I felt like there was something beneath all the noise that could make the company stand out, but you can only take things so far when leadership makes it impossible to do your job.

We're glad you enjoyed your co-workers, our office environment and casual dress code. We work hard to make sure our space is conducive to a productive workday as well as open communication and interaction among co-workers. One of our goals is to find a balance between too much and too little work so employees can be as efficient as possible and plan their lives accordingly. We continually monitor pay to make sure our compensation is fair and make adjustments when we're off. We do value our employees - we couldn't do this without them - but we will continue to try to show our appreciation more. Thanks again!

      Pros

      Headquarters is located in downtown Milwaukee and the work atmosphere is amazing. Open concept, free coffee, free beer and you can bring your dog to work! The people who work at Wantable are extremely friendly, all you need to do is say hi and be open to communication. Leadership really cares and listens to employees on the marketing/creative side of the company. If you are a hard worker you will succeed here. This is an extremely fast growing company, so you need to be able to learn fast and adapt to the fast-paced environment. Excellent benefits for employees as well.
