      Pros

      My immediate teammates within the department are amazing, full of integrity and passion for the students.

      Cons

      Leadership who have been around less than 5 years are astonishingly out of touch with how to run a successful entity, don't engage with their employees, make leadership decisions with a major lack of insight, have zero communication, and treat loyal employees like chess pieces.

      Good team of people Good junior admin team Good resources and support; well supported department

      Cons

      University wide the culture here is split between individuals overly concerned with precident and legacy with an upcoming generation of younger individuals just trying to do their jobs efficiently. Pushing for upgrading tools, etc. will be met with unexpected pushback to the degree where you may find yourself looking for alternate employment less than year into working here. Fighting battles from the 90's as recently as 2022.

      Some flex time for early and late meetings. Working in/with the community is fantastic.

      Cons

      Lack of general support for county educators and non-competitive pay for those working away from the university. Lack of understanding of flex time for working on holidays and weekends.
