Pros

I worked in the corporate office for several years. Environment was dynamic and interesting.

Cons

There was a lot of infighting going on most of the time, and often times it was hard to tell who was in charge. I got caught in the middle of some strange decisions, and an ever changing set of priorities that often times didn't make any sense. The main problem with the office is that after a while it becomes very clear that if you're not a member of the core business group of the company, you're not valued whatsoever. Sort of a "take it or leave it" mentality seems to be dictated from the 'top' down, and HR seems to be on board with this.

Nice office in general, and they make a good impression to outsiders

Cons

Unless you're in the "right" group, you're treated as a liability and unfortunate expense. If you voice your concern, you're pretty much given a map to the front door by HR, but thanked over and over again for your input.

Pros

Plenty of opportunity to learn and bolster your resume/experience for your next job. Casual work environment. The executive committee, acquisition team, and operations group have considerable talent.

Cons

Severe micromanagement, ineptness/unprofessional behavior by some of the finance/accounting managers, and an overall toxic work environment in the portfolio/corporate accounting groups.
