They provided a lot of support and invested in training their employees. They also encouraged employees to donate time to local charities.

Cons

They were often times short staffed and expected a lot of time from their exempt employees.

Pros

Work with some good people. Plenty of work to keep you challenged If you do good work, you'll have a job until the next round of layoffs.

Cons

Executive/upper management is out of touch with the rest of the business and the common worker. Panders to the whims of wall street and having xx quarters of meeting/exceeding street expectations. When there's the slightest chance of not meeting the annual operating plan, watch out for layoffs. With being a publicly traded company, management will do whatever is necessary to achieve their bonuses even if it means stomping on everyone below to get there. Management job opportunities are reserved for executive management and their friends, you won't even see them posted.
