Pros
Hands down the best part of Wayfair is the people. Young, energetic, and well educated are the norms here.
Cons
When you apply for the category associate role, you will be a buyer for a minimum of 6 months before becoming a category associate. Do not underestimate these 6 months. Wayfair created the buyer program for a few reasons: to train people on the ways of Wayfair as a disposable buyer become becoming the much more critical category associate and because the buying role (as an independent job, not a program) had horrific turnover. Management within the program is exclusively focused on buying with no afterthought for the category associate role you got hired to do. In a nutshell, buying is about chasing suppliers to submit materials we need (imagery, product details, etc) to add them to the Wayfair site. Regardless of your category, most of your day will be spent mindlessly sending follow up emails and phone calls. Benefits are competitive. Salary's are laughable.
