Pros

Location is great - right in the heart of Back Bay. I've heard pay is not great at Wayfair. I felt like I was compensated fairly.

Cons

It seems like Wayfair loves to hire in-experienced managers who love managing their own status and appearance rather than managing workloads and career paths of those on their team. Friends of managers are given clear preferential treatment. There is also no way to give upward feedback on the management team, and if you do, you jeopardize your standing at the company.

Pros

People are genuinely friendly and help one another. Great friendships are formed. They also have free snacks and drinks to help you muddle through the day.

Cons

If you need any kind of medical accommodation covered by ADA or FMLA prepared to have company standards be minimal. There is no HR support and upper HR personnel have stated that people with ADA or FMLA are a waste of company resources and shouldn't be working there. Another comment has been that pregnant women or women wanting to get pregnant shouldn't work at Wayfair unless they are career driven and less family oriented. They WILL find a way to fire you if you have ANY FMLA or ADA accommodation or request a medically necessary accommodation. You can work hard and give everything you have to the company but the instant you have a medical issue, you are basically told incorrect information passed off as "company policy". Management will take your ideas and pass them of as theirs, never giving you credit. It was great several years ago and there wasn't an issue until 2 years ago. Management only look to advance themselves and WILL demean and harass employees in quiet one on one "coachings" they still write you up even if you express and request for ideas on how to improve performance. They will even by pass a verbal warning to go right to a final written with no clear reason. They also will contest you unemployment claim stating you broke company policy so they don't have to pay out. Beware of applying here for so many reasons but mostly if you have ANY kind of disability, you will get treated like trash even if you are a top performer. Any concern brought to HR or Management will begin dives into your performance to find any excuse to get rid of you.

Pros

The pay is nice and the benefits are great (with the exception of paid time off)

Cons

We are told we need to both take back to back calls and give all our customers our phone number and email for follow-up. However if we take any time to actually attend to our customers (after we promise them that we will) then it is critisized as being anti productive and we are either written up or put on "Development plans". Where the company used to be ran via encouragment and positivity, it now is ran with threats and fear. Overtime is offered but only to take on more work. We used to get the option to work holidays for time and a half plus extra PTO but now we are told we have to work, however there are a limited few people they allow off on a holiday. We still get PTO to work them but every time I've asked for days off this year they have been denied. Blackout period is coming up and the PTO doesnt pay out or roll over. So thats just another empty promise I suppose.
