Pros

relaxed dress code, Wayfair does hire the best so you will have the chance to collaborate and learn from some driven individuals. Reset days are a nice 'reward' after tough hiring pushes. Wayfair is a great company to have on your resume and teaches you how to be nimble and work through a lot of ambiguous situations.

Cons

For the amount of work and effort expected to just meet expectations per review, compensation is not competitive or aligned. Managers are not trained on how to promote growth within their teams. Each manager's expectations and advocacy for their team are wildly different from team to team. Creating a ton of confusion around promotions and how to get promoted. If you do not have a strong manager expect to fully own your own development with little direction or actionable feedback.

Pros

Constantly learning new software technologies

Cons

0 work life balance. Competition for easiest work on engineering teams leads to long work weeks. Engineers on teams often worked weekends in order to get more done than teammates. Poor Agile implementation has ruined business teams who only care about throughput time and hitting delivery estimates. Turnover is high as engineers are given 3 months to produce or they are let go. Project managers often dictate the sub tasks within projects as opposed to listening to engineering feedback during sprint grooming and planning.
