Pros

This company is a fountain of creative, interesting and hard working candidates. You will make life long friends and have lots to empathize with each other about as you’ll likely need to vent about your day to day. Often

Cons

- there is a heavy emphasis on tech and automation which is great from a business perspective. But your human employees are the ones feeding the systems the information and the ideas that will then take their jobs. Just compensate them for that fairly. That does not happen at Wayfair if you’ve started your career here. If you’re looking to come into Wayfair later on in your career you are valuable to them. But not fresh minds and fresh ideas. That’s sad to me - management creates an environment of competition often without realizing it. This means that so much energy is put into work that often only benefits an individual and not actually what’s best for business goals. If less pressure was out on employees to compete for promotions and be compensated fairly you would find your employees working as a team towards a common goal. This would get you far more gains overall. Invest your money in the smart people you hire and trust they will get you there rather than making them play gladiator for your entertainment - people are promoted based off of working hard long hours.... not working smart - most roles are severely undervalued in salary and management likes to rationalize this with all the “perks” - open office environment creates a terrible lack of care for personal mental health and even physical health - any efforts put towards growth in equality and diversity are only for Positive PR presence. These efforts are not for the good of the world or the employees. - HR is a powerful and terrifying machine at Wayfair. They are built big and strong to defend the upper management and company name. Not to protect to health and wellness of the employees. Bringing your issues to HR does not mean you will receive support. It means you have flagged yourself as a potential “difficult person” and you will either be asked to be less dramatic or the tables will be turned and any mistakes you personally have made will be pulled up to diminish any sense of credibility you may have

Pros

Small discount on items. Can work from home. Provide equipment. That's all...

Cons

Literally shocked this company has a 3.4 rating...not sure how that is even possible considering how much this job sucks. In just two short months I have experienced a complete 180 from what I was told this job was like to the actual job. ******DOES NOT MATCH AT ALL****** Training was great, people were great and I was told I was doing a fantastic job and would do well. Got to the floor and my team leader rides me constantly, tells me I'm 'sucking hard' and that he needs me to produce more so it doesn't cut into 'his' bonus. He constantly tells me 'that's the game brotha' when I object to treating customers like crap to keep good metrics, which apparently is the corporate expectation. He even said to me 'if it bothers your integrity this isn't the job for you, brotha’. Absolutely appalling!! Tied to the desk, get spoken to for too many trips to the bathroom and had multiple, unannounced schedule changes. They will schedule you for shifts and not tell you. ******POOR WORK – LIFE BALANCE***** Seriously, don't waste your time here, they don't care about anything or anyone except their metrics and the almighty dollar. The lip service about 'building a relationship' and 'shopping with a customer' is all B.S. They want the $$$ as fast as they can get it, they want it yesterday and they don't care about any of the issues that pop up that prevents making a sale, they EXPECT you to strong-arm customers into buying something, anything at all ON EVERY CALL, NO MATTER WHAT, NO EXCEPTIONS. In truth, it is THE only metric that matters at the end of the day but if you ask about your metrics they tell you not to focus on it...constant bait and switch and the employee is always at fault and never measuring up. This is how they try to keep you small and obedient. Management are not true managers, their management knowledge consists of cut-copy and paste experiences from plagiarized sources and passed off as their own. They cannot trouble-shoot anything and offer empty pat answers for EVERY given situation with no real time results. Regardless of what training teaches you it is an extremely stifling and suffocating environment. No room for personal assessment, judgment or personality...robots need apply. I can’t imagine the tactics that management uses are actually approved of but what is even worse is all the people who KNOW the crap company they work for and enable it every day. Deplorable company all the way around. Grab your DIGNITY and run.

Pros

Overall the company is scaling fast

Cons

The systems in the backend have no way to handle how fast the company is scaling and the leadership is terrible. All product leaders do is suck up to business, they have no clear direction on where the products should go and what we should build. Even if a product is built, there are so many fires and errors in the product that all the time goes in fixing them rather than iterating or building anything new.
