Pros

Fun place to work right out of college. Lots of snacks, great office, very social culture. Ski trip was a highlight!

Cons

Recruiting was a mess when I was there. I received 2 Wayfair offers before starting, both well below market average but 1 slightly higher than the other. The recruiter for the higher paying job was perfectly nice but the other was a shark. I told her I was more interested in the position she was responsible for but ultimately needed more money. She said she could match the first offer but I had to officially decline that one before I would get anything in writing. I did and when the offer came, it was the original lower salary, not adjusted as had been promised. When I brought this up to her, she said "does it really matter? that could be a few less Starbucks a week." That statement bothers me so much to this day; equating my livelihood to cups of coffee after forcing me to back out of a better offer and not fulfilling your end of the deal. When I tried to negotiate, she threatened to drop my (now only) offer. I started and it was fine. The role was in no way analytics, more manual data processing but the co-workers were great and it was fine. Fast forward 6 months- I've learned some new skills and applied for a widely advertised internal role at the company. I went through an endless internal interviewing process with at least 5 different rounds for what was described as a development program. After those interviews, the recruiter tells me that they need to do another round to prove myself but things are looking good. After that one she tells me I've gotten the role(!) but I may need to wait 6 months for them to start it so I can hit my 1 year mark at the company. And then I was totally ghosted, I reached out numerous times for information and never heard from her again. I ultimately reached out to the role's department head who was very considerate in taking the time to meet with me and to let me know that I had not been selected for the role in the first place and he's not sure why she would have said so. I had turned down an external role in the meantime. I left the company 6 weeks later.

Pros

Growth opportunities, In depth training, high pay rate, employee engagement was amazing when in office.

Cons

Management will look for a reason to get rid of you once you are on a written or a final. Once COVID hit and they sent everyone to work from home, there was no care given for their physical or mental health and agents were always being pushed harder to do better with no work and life separation. They are still expecting more and more out of their agents with no added benefit to them with the ever looming threat of do this or be fired. Anonymous surveys are not anonymous and you cannot put your honest opinion in them without negative repercussions on your career. You are not allowed to voice your opinion when something negative is seen in the culture or you will be removed. Through “proper channels”. The proper channels are a verbal warning which is never known to you until you are then put on a written warning. A written turns into a final even after shown improvement and a final is termination as they will find any reason to terminate you. Even if it is something minor that can be resolved by a ticket or an email.

Pros

nothing is a pro. I can't honestly say one good thing.

Cons

everything - useless managers, they throw ideas at the wall to see what sticks - too bad you are the lab rats they're running this experiment on and your compensation is sometimes effected by this because new measures or expectations don't allow you to optimize it. this company makes you feel incredibly unvalued. nepotism is rampant. the people the managers befriend become the people who quickly move up the line (so coincidental!) and real, talented professionals are looked over. I honestly can not say enough bad things about this company and experience working there, everyone was miserable and always looking for any other job to end the misery. You will hate life when it consists of people calling you about their broken furniture and canceling their entire order. so much out of your control that can really end up impacting your take home money - which is why we are there. stay away, its worth looking for a little more time for a job that will value you as a human and actually help you grow professionally.
