Pros

I met some of the best people during my time at Wayfair, but I unfortunately also met some of the worst.

Cons

Managers and directors are highly abusive, to say the very least. Unfortunately this experience is not exclusive to me. I'm not a sensitive person, but there were many times I left 1:1s with my boss feeling like there was nothing I could do to appease them. Coworkers across multiple departments would need to take a moment after meeting with their manager, because they ended up in tears from the interaction. Managers don't want you to succeed, they want to lose good in front of their Directors and would be rewarded for abusive behavior. It was not uncommon to stay up until 12AM on most work nights. We spend most of our days in meetings and the actual work happens after the work day is over. The compensation and benefits are not great for what you experience. Wayfair also does not have a clear 3 year plan and it shows. Sometimes, we would spend months, nearly a year, working on a project only for it to get scrapped because the direction of the business changed. Their lack of foresight causes significant waste.

Stay Away

Pros

I liked working from home and the hours. Also liked the prize incentives they did during special sales pushes.

Cons

Wayfair is a very shady company. They don't disclose exactly how commissions are paid and they didn't include any commission details on pay stubs showing what sales were made and how they were paid out like normal commission jobs. The website also needs a lot of work. There is so much incorrect and missing or even misleading information on the products. This makes it very difficult to answer customer inquiries and close on sales. Corporate and CEO are very detached and cold towards employees. They lay employees off by email and say they're going to have a meeting to answer questions. At said meeting cameras and microphones are disabled and the termination email is read almost verbatim. Then they say this call is over now, hang up.

WOKE Globalist Want To Be

Pros

Health insurance and PTO are good.

Cons

This company has gone totally WOKE. A person who does not agree with their WOKE agenda or walk around blasting their pronouns will not survive here. Non-minority folks do no stand a chance. Favoritism within each different org is rabid. Leadership is completely incompetent. Decisions are made that will make your head spin. Leadership is more concerned about metrics, which they inflate during weekly business review calls, than they are about actually saving this once great place to work. Leadership is all about just closing tickets more so than they are about doing the right thing for customers, suppliers, or the company so that the (falsely reported) numbers look good. God forbid one of the C Suite lose their job! I saw this firsthand. Do not waste your time applying to this company. My personal feeling is that it won't be around too much longer and deservingly so for Niraj.
