Pros

If it's your first job out of college it's a good place to start but GET OUT quickly. The only good thing about this place is the dress code and some of the people you meet. I met some great people and they do a good job of bringing people together for outings.

Cons

This place is the most judgmental place I've ever worked in. It is all about playing favorites and playing the political game. The salaries do not reflect the work you are doing. They will make you do the work of a manager and never promote you or compensate you and use little excuses as to why. They claim they are "transparent" and that is a complete lie. Nothing is ever communicated, to the point where you are setup for failure. If something was not liked by upper management, they do not communicate down and or take the time to explain what they want. Do not show appreciation for many employee's work and would state the roles as "transactional" and look at roles as "replaceable." Rather than helping people grow, they set you up to fail so they have an excuse to fire people.

Pros

You will learn a lot as there is a sword hanging over your head every time. Having said that, it creates an environment of continuous anxiety.

Cons

1. Hire and fire culture - More than 12 people from a batch of 30 people in Wayfair Labs were fired within 10 months. Those who survived looked stressed and feared for their jobs all the time. 2. Continuous evaluation/ micromanagement of work until they let you go. 3. Stressful, unfriendly environment, everyone looks stressed and employees always work overtime, no work life balance. 4. Low pay ~ 80k base salary - not enough to sustain in an expensive city like Boston, other companies pay much better. 5. No appreciation of work. 6. No work Visa sponsorship initially, they fire you before the Visa sponsorship time comes. 7. Managers do not have a personal relationship with employees, racist environment. DO NOT join

Pros

Hi-tech, great office, loads of chocolate, lots of smart people and plenty of training curriculums to help brush up your skills.

Cons

If you like startup environments, then you'll get frustrated here. Working autonomously and / or being disruptive in your role is almost impossible due to numerous managers making key decisions behind closed doors. If you like the freedom and responsibility that a startup will grant you, don't work here.
