Not for engineers

Pros

Developers have almost no overtime in Berlin.

Cons

Codebase from your darkest nightmares. Forget the "fancy" stuff you using daily since 2010s, you will not find it here. There will be HARDLY a chance to keep your skills up to date. Windows based developer workstations (it's tricky to get a mac unless you're writing some ios thingy). There are, in average, 2 managers for every 3 developers. Of course, bad managers (it would be too easy otherwise). Lack of vision, short term project ownership and awfully prepared tasks are included in the package. Developer (I mean all those regular dev) is responsible for making people do their work, this is called “establishing personal connections”. If a team is in trouble, no-one responsible will act unless an issue directly hurts them or your teammate starts annoyingly poke someone. Work is hardly related to engineering. Mostly it’s a matter of quickly fixing something urgent stuff here and there. No career opportunities (don't believe recruiters, there is no space to grow).

Pros

Great people to work with! Lots of smart individuals with ambition and problem solving skills. The office is really nice with snacks, beer taps, and great work location.

Cons

Senior management is awful. Some of the new senior management are slowly dissolving the company culture. Turnover rate for some departments is abnormally high.

Pros

Pay doesn't suck. But that's literally all.

Cons

Everything else does. After 2+ years of dutiful service, I can finally write my review. This was, hands down, the worst company I've ever worked for. The turnover, outrageous. The management, poor at best. We could not hold down site directors and managers, let alone sscs. The business model is not bad. It's the execution that ruins everything, large parcel delays, changing of PTO rules and accrual rates, scheduling, 'promotions' (which are really just increasing the amount of people yelling at you for an additonal .50). The company went public, it happens. But it went downhill fast and employees are no longer treated fairly or like humans at all. Also, 7 years of experience and a bachelors? For a call center? What brilliant person thoughto that up.
