Variety of Team Cultures & Unexciting Product

Pros

-The company is full of young and energetic people. -Co-workers are very supportive. For example, when it became clear this wasn't the best organization for me multiple people wanted to hear about my ambitions and offered to help me get there. -The execs are involved with every level of business and clearly passionate. -It can really be a fun place to work!

Cons

-Different teams had vastly different cultures. Some very positive and some very negative. -Toxic managers are not properly dealt with or re-trained, even after complaints are made. -Although Wayfair is a tech company, the product they're selling is still furniture and some days you can home unsatisfied that the result of your day was more throw pillows being sold. Many people were very happy there but I found myself unfulfilled by that aspect.

Love It

Pros

The environment/atmosphere is great. Peers and management are very supportive and encouraging. There are a lot of cool perks like free snack bar and free coffee/tea selection on every floor. It's really cool getting to be right in Copley Place and steps from the Prudential Center (via indoor walkway). There are a lot of complaints about salary here but it depends on your skill and previous salary. I am paid well above market rate and other people my age. I love going to work here every day.

Cons

The commute is expensive but that's really in the hands of the employee. They will also buy your MBTA passes with pre tax money so that's a big help.

Very encouraging management, free snacks, loose time schedule, good money.

Cons

Expensive place to live or commute to. Starting at a computer screen constantly.
