Pros

-Young, creative and intelligent talent across the board -Work hard, play hard mentality -The e-commerce market and demographic that they have honed in on has an incredible amount of untapped potential -The business to business department has more than quadrupled (both revenue and headcount) in less than two years -It came off as a bit cliche at first, but from day one the mentality they preached was, "we are never done." After about two years I know that the senior leadership firmly believes this and tries to instill the same philosophy in every new hire. -Feedback and constructive criticism is not only encouraged and heard-out but is usually implemented; it gives a sense of ownership and confidence that the company is always looking to improve. -All of the above leads to a pervasive sense of purpose: Wayfair is going to succeed and individuals with the opportunity and work ethic to belong here will as well.

Cons

-Very high turnover rate -Low starting salary -The amount of change can be a bit overwhelming but provides great insight into the development of a company that still, by the leaders' own acknowledgement, has so far to go. -Since so much of the software is in-house, the tendency is to implement things before they are perfected. All bugs and tech issues are taken care of as quickly as possible but running into problems like that will happen eventually.

Pros

The open office environment breeds quick direct and quick problem solving coupled with a deeper team feel and an understanding on how the parts of the company function. Great place to meet friends

Cons

Management shoots itself in the foot by not listening to any notes given from current unhappy employees. Wayfair hires smart, young, and motivated kids right out of college that have the capacity to function in this dynamic environment, however we're pigeonholed by finger pointing, LOW salary, and above all else one of the highest turnover rates I've ever seen in a company, causing so many procedures to just halt in their tracks. New hire training is constant and required due to the number of people leaving the company of their own accord. I've heard from a number of colleagues that during their exit interviews, they voice all of the problems that had obstructed them from work, however nothing has changed. There are several bright coworkers trying desperately to make the processes better and more fluid but their handicapped by tenure and lack of leadership, so they become jaded.

Merchandising Folly

Pros

Like a lot of these reviews, the best part of working at Wayfair tends to be the people that you meet throughout the company. By and large, they are driven, focused, and brilliant, and working directly with like minded people always makes a difference.

Cons

Unfortunately, the cons of working at this company, and specifically in the Merchandising department, are plenty and widespread. Entry level analysts are considered expendable, and although given a lot of responsibility very quickly, are not valued in the slightest. That's seen in compensation, how they are treated by upper management, and therefore, the high turnover that this department sees. The amount of work that has been tasked to the few veterans is astounding, and instead of constructively planning on what to do with the backlog of projects, the veterans are told, "Do More. Increase your production," without any incentives or even a glimpse of a brighter future.
